Research institute to come up at Lord Parshuram’s birthplace Janapao: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a research institute will be established at Lord Parshuram’s birthplace Janapao in Indore district. Addressing a function on Lord Parshuram Jayanti at Janapao today, the Chief Minister announced that it would be developed as a prominent centre of pilgrimage and tourist destination. A integrated action plan will be chalked out for Janapao’s all-round development through Tourism, Forest and other departments. The function was presided over by Urban Development and Environment Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya.

The Chief Minister said that Lord Parshuram inspired us to fight against Adharma and injustice. He established Dharma for welfare and peace of humanity. His ideals will be disseminated to masses. A grand building will be constructed at Janapao to apprise people about Lord Parshuram’s personality and deeds. Efforts would also be made to through light on his life and deeds through light-and-sound show. Shri Chouhan said that research institute and a new Kund will be constructed at Janapao. Heavy plantation will be done on hillock of Janapao. Diwas Basera building there will be named after Shri Ashok Patidar. He said that it is endeavour of state government that Janapao is developed as a prominent pilgrimage centre and tourism spot. For this, an integrated action plan will be chalked out for all-round development through Tourism, Forest and other departments. He said that possibilities of reviving 7 and half rivers at their originating point in Janapao will be examined and an action plan regarding this will be chalked out in future.

Urban Development and Environment Minister Shri Vijayvargiya informed about works being undertaken by the state government at birthplace of Lord Parshuram. He said that it is endeavour of the state government that Janapao is developed on the lines of Salkanpur. He said that with public cooperation a grand temple will be built at Janapao.The state government will develop basic infrastructure and facilities. He said that Choral, Patalpani and Janapao are being developed as major tourism centres. Shri Hridyesh Dixit delivered the welcome address. Shri Ramesh Sharma, Dr. K.K. Pandey, Shri Alok Dube etc. also spoke.

At the outset, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan with his wife Smt. Sadhana Singh offered worship at the temple at Lord Parshuram’s birthplace. He gave Poorn Ahooti in the Yagya there. He rinsed with water from Brahmkund. The programme began amidst chants of Vedic Mantras.

It is noteworthy that on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, Janapao is being developed as a tourist destination. Announcement made in this regard in year 2008 by the Chief Minister is assuming concrete shape. A sum of Rs. 11 crore has been sanctioned for the project. Works costing Rs. 7 crore have been completed.
