Political crisis in Greece continues

ATHENS: The political leaders of Greece were unable to form a government in the nine days after the election does not give mandate to a single party.

This political crisis pushes the Greece close to a bankruptcy and exit from the euro. The new elections to get a clear mandate will be expected to be held in Mid-June.

A spokesman for President Karolos Papoulias said after talking three days to political leader’s that seeing a compromise had been declared a failure and a new vote must be held. A care taker government will be formed on Wednesday.

“For God’s sake, let’s move towards something better and not something worse,” socialist party leader Evangelos Venizelos said after the meeting.

“Our motherland can find its way; we will fight for it to find its way.” Greece is without a government since its inconclusive election that left supports and opponents split.
