Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra came face-to-face at Isha Ambani’s reception, here’s what happened next

Shah Rukh Khan’s admiration for Priyanka Chopra was quite evident even before the actress was crowned Miss World. This fondness reportedly only grew after the two did quite a few films together, their most memorable one being Don, where PeeCee played his ‘junglee billi’.

Things went haywire when rumour mills began churning that the happily married Don 2 actor and the former Miss World were an item, causing bitterness between the two, to the extent that they never appeared at an event together nor did a film again (post Don 2) despite receiving praises for their chemistry.

Priyanka was reported to be signed for the Rakesh Sharma biopic (Read: Saare Jahaan Se Accha) till Aamir Khan was part of the film. No sooner did Aamir pass on the project to Shah Rukh, Piggy Chops opted out of the project, further adding fuel to the fire. Her name never came up even when Farhan Akhtar announced that he is taking the Don franchise further.

The actress soon moved to Hollywood and after 2 years of spending her time there, she found love in a the American singer/song writer Nick Jonas. Much to everybody’s surprise, she ended up marrying him and took his surname.

When asked about PC getting married this year at an event, SRK had humoured, “Even I am getting married. I’ll send you an invite. I will send you the card for the reception and also, do come for the mehendi.”

This caught everybody by surprise, especially when Priyanka-Nick greeted King Khan with a smile at the recently held reception of Isha Ambani, daughter of India’s richest and world’s third richest man Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani.

An actress confirmed to Deccan Chronicle, “I’ve never seen them speak to one another. But I guess the beautiful occasion, plus the fact that PeeCee is now Mrs Jonas, must have prompted Shah Rukh’s innately gentlemanly nature to zip out of his heart.”

This makes us wonder if a movie with Priyanka and Shah Rukh Khan is up the sleeve any time soon. Though, it does seem far-fetched but we do like to live in hope right?
