Chief Secretary administers Wildlife Conservation Pledge

Bhopal: Prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions held during Wildlife Conservation Week at Van Vihar today. Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa administered Wildlife Conservation Pledge to those present on the occasion. The Chief Secretary also unveiled a special cover published by Postal Department on wildlife conservation. A tigress protected in Madhya Pradesh with her 4 cubs has been displayed on this special cover.

Chief Secretary Shri de Sa said that wildlife conservation is prime need. Conservation of wildlife protects forests and ultimately, human beings, environment and nature is also safeguarded. Congratulating Forest Department for organising Wildlife Conservation Week excellently, the Chief Secretary gave away prizes to students for winning painting, photography, debate and Rangoli competitions.
Inspection of exhibition: Chief Secretary Shri de Sa also went round a wildlife photo exhibition held by photographer Shri Abrar Khan. About 100 photographs of wild animals and birds of Van Vihar and city’s natural beauty have been displayed at the exhibition.
Seeks information about schemes at meeting: Before conclusion of Wildlife Conservation Week, the Chief Secretary sought information about Forest Department’s schemes. He sought details from Principal Secretary Forests Shri B.P. Singh and other departmental officers.
