Two Sangh Leaders Under CBI Scanner for Protecting Ajmer Blasts Accused: Report

The CBI has claimed that two Sangh leaders gave protection to Ajmer blasts accused, reported Times Now.

According to Times Now, senior RSS functionaries from Uttar Pradesh – Ashok Varshney and Ashok Berry – gave shelter to accused Devender Gupta and also arranged his stay in Lucknow and Sitapur in the state.

Gupta made such confession in the presence of Varshney and Berry before the CBI sleuths, report said citing unnamed sources.

However, defence counsel Umar Daan alleged that his clients were being ‘politically targeted, said report.

“CBI has a political agenda. They are framing the people with certain mindset and notions. These leaders are not involved in any anti-social activities,” Daan was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the CBI director declined to reveal any details about the case, report said.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he said that that the CBI would be submitting its findings before the court soon.
