IPL Points Table 2019, Standings, rankings, Orange cap, Purple cap after RCB vs KKR match

Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, in what was a cracker of a contest in Indian Premier League 2019. Andre Russell was at his sensational best as he dismantled the RCB bowling attack by scoring an unbeaten 48 off 13 balls including seven sixes and one boundary. In the first innings, Virat Kohli (84) and AB de Villiers (63) powered RCB to a mammoth score of 205-3 in 20 overs. However, it was Chris Lynn (43) and Russell’s dream knock that handed KKR their third win in four matches.

With the win, KKR move to second in the points table with six points under their belt in four matches. KKR have a net run-rate of +0.534 and are enjoying a bright start to their IPL 2019 campaign. Whereas, RCB are looking down and out after losing all their five matches in the cash-rich tournament. They have a net run-rate of -1.616, the lowest in IPL 2019.

Sunrisers Hyderabad openers David Warner (264) and Jonny Bairstow (246) still hold the top two spot in the Orange Cap table. However, Andre Russell moves to third in the table with 207 runs to his name at a mind-blowing strike rate of 268.83. KKR’s Nitish Rana moved to the fourth spot with 169 runs under his belt.

Yuzvendra Chahal is still Purple Cap holder with nine wickets. The leg-spinner has been phenomenal for RCB but the overall team performances of the Virat Kohli-led outfit have disappointed them in a massive way. Imran Tahir, Kagiso Rabada and Dwayne Bravo are next in the list with seven wickets each.
