Bhopal to be developed as smart and global city: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Bhopal will be developed as one of the best cities of the world. He said that it will be developed as smart and global city. He announced that TT Nagar multi-level parking will be named after Amar Shaheed Tatya Tope and MP Nagar after Maharana Pratap. The Chief Minister performed Bhumi Poojan for both the multi-level parkings here today.

On the occasion of Bhumi Poojan of about Rs. 36 crore multi-level parking at TT Nagar, the Chief Minister informed that the Central government has included Bhopal in the list of proposed smart cities in the country. State government will extend every possible cooperation in this. He said that a scheme will be chalked out to give a new shape to Bhopal’s New Market area. He urged shopkeepers of New Market to writer Tatya Tope Nagar instead of TT Nagar on their signboards. This will make new generations aware about Amar Shaheed Tatya Tope.

Higher Education Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta said that Madhya Pradesh government is pro-active and is continuously working towards welfare of common people. He said that work of second phase of New Market will be undertaken under redensification scheme.

Mayor Shri Alok Sharma said that a major problem of the area will come to end after construction of multi-level parking. He said that shopkeepers of New Market should be given ownership rights. Former CM Shri Kailash Joshi, MP Shri Alok Sanjar, MLAs Sarvshri Surendranath Singh, Shri Rameshwar Sharma and Shri Vishwas Sarang, local corporator Shri Jagdish Yadav, Shri Vijesh Lunawat, Shri Om Yadav and people of the area were present on the occasion.

Multi-level parking to come up at MP Nagar

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan performed Bhumi Poojan of multi-level parking to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 45 crore at MP Nagar. He said that apart from smart city, Bhopal will also be developed as heritage city, green city, clean city, global city and digital city. He said that it will be developed as clean and beautiful city with cooperation of all. There would be no lack of funds for it. At the outset, Mayor Shri Alok Sharma said that construction of this multi-level parking will facilitate both businessmen and people. At the function, Rs. 16 lakh 54 thousand 747 was contributed towards relief to earthquake victims of Nepal on behalf of people of Bhopal. Leader of Opposition in Municipal Corporation Shri Mohammad Sagheer, other public representatives and people were present on the occasion.
