Tribals to be given housing pattas: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that housing pattas will be given to tribals for the land on which they are residing for years. Besides, tribals occupying forest land will also be given pattas against individual and community claims. He said that the state government is working towards ensuring that every family in the state has their own house. Shri Chouhan was addressing district level Antyodaya Mela and Tribal Convention at Dindori today.

Shri Chouhan said that the state government is constantly working towards tribal welfare. They are being given benefits under various schemes. Shri Chouhan said that farmers are being motivated to plant saplings of fruit bearing trees along river banks to ensure continuous flow of water in rivers. Such farmers will be given financial assistance till these trees start giving fruits. He said that Gram Sabhas will be held at Gram Panchayats under Gramoday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan to benefit beneficiaries.

Shri Chouhan said that level of education is improving among tribals due to efforts by the state government. Tribal students are being selected in IITs and IIMs, which is a major achievement. He informed that for this, the state government is providing free text-books, uniforms and cycles, scholarshops and facility to rent house for studies in cities.

Shri Chouhan also made announcements for Dindori’s development. He performed Bhumi Poojan for construction of Vikrampur to Dohniya-Batodha road, Malpur to Rai road, bridge on Narmada, Shahpura drinking water scheme and Sarasdoli irrigation project costing Rs. 84 crore. Shri Chouhan also announced surface water piped schemes in 50 villages, model colleges and higher secondary schools at Dindori and Shahpura, asphaltation of road from village Chichringpur to Pakakrbarghara, office of Deputy Registrar at Shahpura, construction of Shahpura-Batondha road, upgradation of Amani Pipariya’s high school to higher secondary school and opening of college at Mehandwani Janpad.

Public Relations Department also put up an exhibition on various welfare schemes at the venue. MP Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, MLA Shri Om Prakash Dhurve and Zila Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Jyoti Prakash Dhurve were also present on the occasion.
