Rakhi Tied to CM Shri Chouhan by sisters of All Religions

Bhopal. With a traditional fervor, the Raksha Bandhan festival was celebrated at the residence of the Chief Minster Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. Handicapped girls of SOS Bal Gram and members of Sports Academy, Prajapita Brahamakumari society and various organizations besides women in large numbers tied rakhi to CM Shri Chouhan.

Minsister for Public Works Shri Rampal Singh, Minister of State for Cooperatives (Independent Charge) Shri Vishwas Sarang, Mayor Shri Alok Sharma, MLA Shri Surendranath Singh, Chairman Municipal Corporation Shri Surjeet Singh Chouhan, former Mayor Smt. Krishna Gaur and mothers, sisters and daughters were present on the occasion.

Shri Chouhan said that Raksha Bandhan is a symbol of affection, intimacy and togetherness. It should not be considered just a thread of security instead it should be reflected in the attitude also. With the same spirit, many schemes for the social and economic empowerment of women have been implemented in the state. Efforts are being made to make women’s partner in the governance of the state. Women should also make progress in the fields of Industry and Trade. Moreover, efforts are speeded up to give reservation to them in the government services and through self help groups.

CM Shri Chouhan said that there are 23 lakh Ladli Laxmis in the state. A sum of Rs. 2 thousand is being provided to each girl taking admission in class 6th. The state government has accumulated Rs. 7,600 crore and Rs. 1 lakh 18 thousand will be given to the girl on attaining age of 21 years. A total of Rs. 27 thousand 600 crore will be provided. He asserted that he will not let tears drop from the eyes of mothers, sisters and daughters. All the necessary efforts are being made for their empowerment and development and will be made in future also to facilitate them to contribute toward the development of state and country.

Shri Chouhan urged to send suggestions regarding free assistance to talented students a decision of state government leaving aside any category.
