Mulayam Iterates, Everything Will be Sorted out

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav Sunday iterated that former party leader Amar Singh’s resignation from the party positions would not be accepted and added that the issues would soon be resolved, say media reports.

“It’s true that Amar Singh has given his resignation from all party posts. But I will not accept his resignation. Everything will be ok,” media reports quoted Mulayam Singh as saying at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata.

Responding to queries over cine-star Sanjay Dutt’s announcement of following his ‘mentor’ Amar Singh’s footsteps and stepping down from his position, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said: “Everything will be sorted out.”

Expressing lament at the treatment meted out to Amar Singh, Sanjay Dutt had resigned his party position on Saturday, he however, clarified that he would continue to remain within the party.

Amar Singh on Wednesday announced his resignation as general secretary of the Samajwadi Party and from his other posts, citing health reasons.

Mulayam was in Kolkata to visit CPI(M) patriarch Jyoti Basu, who is critically ill and undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.
