Haryana Congress leader Vikas Chaudhary shot dead near Delhi

Chaudhary, 38, had recently switched from Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) to Congress

Faridabad: Haryana Congress spokesman Vikas Chaudhary was shot dead by unknown men near Delhi on Thursday morning. Vikas Chaudhary was attacked after he came out of a gym in sector 9 in Faridabad. Police said that four men came in a Maruti Suzuki SX4 car and fired more than 10 bullets at him.
The Congress has asked the state government to investigate the incident and catch the attackers at the earliest. “We are deeply angered and saddened by this act of grotesque violence against a member of the Congress Party. We urge the Haryana government to bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest. Our sincere condolences to his family in this time of grief,” Congress tweeted.
Haryana Congress president Ashok Tanwar, meanwhile, hit out at the government over the deteriorating law and order problem in the state. “It’s ‘jungle raj’, there is no fear of law. Same kind of incident happened yesterday, where a woman who opposed molestation was stabbed. There should be an investigation,” he said.
Chaudhary, 38, had recently switched from Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) to Congress. More details are awaited.
