Elections 2019: Dhanush, Chinmayi Sripaada and other celebs cast their vote in Tamil Nadu

The people of Tamil Nadu are all set to cast their vote this Elections 2019 and it’s not just the common folk but celebrities, too, who are waiting in the queue to cast their vote. Rajinikanth and Thala Ajith were among the first ones to cast their vote this morning. Thalaiva also urged the people of TN to vote for whoever they think is the right leader. Kamal Haasan and daughter Shruti were also spotted waiting in line to cast their vote. Thalapathy Vijay turned up, waiting for his turn quietly in the queue to do the needful. Though the actors didn’t really speak much to the media that has gathered outside the venue to cover the elections, they are setting the right example and encouraging more people to vote.

In fact, Kamal has told the media outside that he will be addressing them only after he has cast his vote. Owing to certain glitches in the area that Kamal is voting from, the polling got delayed but the actor waited very patiently with his actress daughter. Rajinikanth and Kamal are both actors-turned-politicians; though they will not be contesting this Election they are ensuring that they fulfil their duties as citizens. Even though Kamal is not contesting elections this year, his party, Makkal Needhi Maiam, will be contesting for all 38 seats.

Actors turning politicians down South is quite common considering the fact that the last three CMs of the state have been from the entertainment industry. AR Rahman, lyricist Vivek, Gautham Kartik, Suriya and wife Jyothika have also tweeted photos after having cast their vote and urged people to do the same. In fact, Suriya came with his entire family to cast the vote.
