Royal Challengers Bangalore destined to lift maiden IPL title in 2019? These amazing facts throw BIG hint

Not a single Indian Premier League (IPL) season has passed when Royal Challengers Bangalore were not counted as top title favourites. The team has long boasted a daunting batting line-up in world cricket with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in their side. They had previously savoured the services of the threatening Chris Gayle while also having a strong bowling lineup. Yet too many cooks have always managed to spoil RCB’s rise to a title victory. Even this time around, RCB have managed to form a formidable squad, but can they combine well to guide the franchise to the elusive trophy? Well, a few incredible facts do point out that RCB are destined to win the IPL 2019 trophy.

After shelling a big amount at the auction last year, RCB managed to rope in nine players which include – swashbuckling Windies batsman Shimron Hetmyer, big-hitting all-rounder Shivam Dube, and South African wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen along with a couple of future prospects. On paper, Kohli has been provided with an all-round squad, stronger than previous 11 seasons, and well equipped to be title favourites again. But can they finally shrug off the long streak and fill their cabinet with a maiden IPL trophy? Well, destiny has left a big hint for RCB.

Bengaluru teams have done exceedingly well in all franchise sport in 2018/19 season, be it badminton or football or even kabaddi. It was Bengaluru Bulls who defeated Gujarat Fortunegiants earlier in January to lift their maiden Pro Kabaddi League title. In Pro Badminton League, Bengaluru Raptors lifted their first-ever title. In Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Karnataka beat Maharashtra to win their maiden title in the tournament history. And on Sunday, Sunil Chhetri-led Bengaluru FC inched past FC Goa to win their first Indian Super League (ISL) title. So going by this unique trend, will RCB win their first IPL trophy in 2019 edition?

It was only earlier this week when captain Kohli expressed that poor decision-making at key moments has been the primary reason behind RCB still being trophy-less in IPL history.

“The failure lies where decisions aren’t made properly,” Kohli said. “If I sit here and say our luck was bad, that won’t be right. You make your own luck, and if you make poor decisions and the other team makes good ones, you will lose. When we played big matches too, our decision-making wasn’t right.

“When your decision-making is spot-on and balanced, those teams win the IPL. The teams that are more relaxed, don’t take the pressure too much, and take good decisions in pressure moments – they should get the credit for winning.”
