President Draupadi Murmu: Inaugurates ‘Utkarsh’ and ‘Unmesh’ festivals in Bhopal
All 140 crore people are my family and all languages are mine said President Murmu
President Draupadi Murmu said in Bhopal, ‘Today 140 crore countrymen are my family. All languages and dialects are mine. The spirit of ‘Yatra Vishvam Bhavati Ek Needham’ (May the whole world become a bird’s nest) is ingrained in our tradition since ancient times. The confluence of the ideal of patriotism and universal brotherhood is visible in our country.
On Thursday, the President attended ‘Utkarsh’ and ‘Unmesh’ celebrations at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal. Inaugurating, she said, ‘After assuming the office of the President, most of my visits have taken place in Madhya Pradesh. This is my 5th visit to MP.
The President said, ‘Literature and art have saved humanity. Literature connects and also connects people. Our collective effort should be to preserve our culture, ethos, customs and natural environment. Brothers and sisters and youth of our tribal community should become partners in modern development.
The President said, ‘There are 700 tribal communities in India, but their languages are more than this. It is the duty of the writers to save the languages. It is also the responsibility of all of us.
CM said – MP is the confluence of art and culture since ancient times.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, ‘If someone gives happiness to the mind, intellect and soul, then it is literature, music and art. Madhya Pradesh has been the confluence of art and culture since ancient times. It is the workplace of litterateurs and the favorite land of artists. Khajuraho, Bhima Baithaka etc. are proofs of this.
The CM said, ‘The thinking of mine and yours is of small minded people. Our land is that land, where every child proclaims Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. When the sun of civilization had not even risen in the developed countries of the world, the Vedas were composed here.
On the President’s visit to Bhopal, Shobha Ojha, in-charge of the departments and cells of the Congress, tweeted, ‘Welcome to Madhya Pradesh. But, it would have been better if you had first given your reaction on the situation in Manipur, expressed your concern. Pressuring the Prime Minister to address the Parliament immediately.
You are the ideal of tribal society. You should refrain from participating in festivals like ‘Utkarsh and Unmesh’ at a time when the sad and violent phase of ‘Apakarsh’ and ‘Daman’ of tribals in the country has taken its dreadful form.
