Delhi Police question employees and associates in Gonda in sexual harassment cases against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh

The Delhi Police went to Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda to investigate the sexual harassment cases against him. Officials said Tuesday the police questioned a few of the employees and associates of Singh, who is also a BJP MP, and recorded their statements.

A special investigation team is investigating the two cases against Singh—one based on the complaint lodged by six wrestlers and another one on the complaint of a minor wrestler—and recording statements of witnesses, complainants, and others involved. So far, more than 125 people have been examined and their statements have been recorded.

According to officials, the police arrived at Singh’s residence to record the statements of 12 people in connection with the allegations of sexual harassment against him. Sources said an Olympian, a CWG medalist, an international referee, and a state-level coach have corroborated the statements of the three complainants against Singh.

In Gonda, the police said they questioned other witnesses and took down their names and addresses. The police refused to comment on whether they questioned Singh at his residence in Gonda.

Meanwhile, sources said the minor complainant has recorded a fresh statement before the magistrate this week where she withdrew her allegations. The Delhi Police are in the process of filing a status report before the court and will submit all the evidenc
