All sections of society should participate in Beti Bachao Abhiyan

Bhopal: Women & Child Development Minister Smt. Ranjana Baghel has said that the all the sections of society should participate in the State Government’s ambitious scheme Beti Bachao Abhiyan, which will generate awareness towards daughters in society. Smt. Baghel was speaking at a function during Beti Bachao and Prohibition Week at Shivpuri today.
Smt. Baghel said that decline sex ration in the state, especially in 14 districts is a matter of concern. All the sections of society will have to change their mindset towards girls with a view to improving gender ratio. She said that we have to treat sons and daughter equally.
The Women & Child Development Minister said that Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has launched schemes like Ladli Laxmi Yojna in the state in view of declining gender ratio. Similarly, Gaon Ki Beti and Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojna are being implemented for upliftment and welfare of girls and women in the state.
Throwing light on the importance of girls and women in society, she said that history is witness to the fact that whenever a crisis has cropped up, women have come forward to thwart it with braveness and wisdom. Smt. Baghel said that girls are worshipped before start of a function in our country. Therefore, girls are a boon and not a burden. Principal Secretary Shri B.R. Naidu was also present at the function.
