One lakh people’s visit to Raj Bhavan set a World Record

The Governor Lalji Tandon has given directives to keep Raj Bhavan open for common man as earlier. He also gave instructions to keep the facility provided to the common man as it is to see the Raj Bhavan during the Independence Day this year too like the last year. He said that arrangements according to the convenience and comfort of the common man should be made. Shri Tandon was holding discussions with the officers regarding arrangements at Raj Bhavan today.
The Raj Bhavan will remain open from August 11 to 16 for common citizens like earlier. The Raj Bhavan will remain open from August 11 to 14 and on August 16 from 11.00 a.m. to 10 p.m. On August 15, facility to see Raj Bhavan will be provided from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. only. Entry in the Raj Bhavan will be restricted between 2.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. Entry will not be allowed during this period. After this time, facility will be provided to see the lighting decoration in the Raj Bhavan from 8.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. On August 16 also, the Raj Bhavan will remain open for the citizens from 11.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.
Under the prevailing arrangement, facility for common man to see Raj Bhavan on every Tuesday and Thursday from 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. and permission to schools for students’ visit programme with prior permission will continue. System of no binding of time and day for school students’ visit programme will also remain like earlier.
The system to keep open Raj Bhavan was welcomed by the common citizens last year. Over one lakh people saw Raj Bhavan in just 6 days last year and set a new World Record. A certificate was given to the Raj Bhavan by registering it as the World Record by the World Book of Records, U.K. London.
