LeT Shops Paragliders to Make Air Strike on R-Day: Report
Intelligence input has revealed that the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has shopped for than 50 sets of paragliding equipment in Europe, reported Indian Express.
Yesterday, another intelligence input has said that terrorist organizations were planning to hijack an airplane, probably an Air India or Indian Airlines aircraft flying to, or from, a SAARC country.
Report said citing government sources that the equipments were ordered by LeT to execute airborne attacks using suicide bombers.
Intelligence agencies were collecting information regarding plans to carry out aerial strikes on significant buildings and installations around Republic Day, said report.
Immediately after the input, security forces were put on high alert and security around all vital installations was tightened, report said.
Report said quoting sources that mock drills are on to thwart a possible aerial attack.
