Rental house scheme to be started in Bhopal

Bhopal: Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur took stock of development works being carried out by Bhopal Municipal Corporation here today. During inspection, Shri Gaur directed to complete the construction works with quality within time-limit. Shri Gaur directed that rental house scheme should be started in Bhopal city to make available housing facility to needy persons who come to the city in search of employment.
Mayor Smt. Krishna Gaur, Principal Secretary Urban Administration Shri S.P.S. Parihar, Commissioner Urban Administration Shri Sanjay Shukla, Municipal Commissioner Shri Rajneesh Shrivastava and officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
Minister Shri Gaur started his inspection visit from New Market subway construction work. He directed to ensure proper sanitation arrangements, widen lane near Indian Coffee House and beautify it. During inspection of Polytechnic Square, he directed to beautify it as well as the road leading to Chief Minister’s residence. He also directed to beautify Kamla Park area.
Shri Gaur also inspected on-going work of over-bridge being constructed at a cost of Rs. 17 crore from Kala Darwaza to Lokayukta office. He directed to remove old vehicles parked in front of Koh-e-Fiza police station. It was informed during inspection that the over-bridge will be completed till March 2013. Its pillars and pyramids will be made attractive. The Urban Administration Minister inspected construction of 3,328 houses being built at a cost of Rs. 97 crore for slum dwellers at Vajpayee Nagar in Idgah Hills area. He instructed to complete the work within time-limit. He also directed to start rental house scheme to ensure that no new slums come up in the city. Shri Gaur also inspected construction of Rein Basera and Sulabh Complex on the premises of Jawaharlal Nehru Cancer Hospital being built by the municipal corporation. It was informed that both these works will be completed by November 30.
Minister Shri Gaur directed to ensure smooth traffic movement at Lal Ghati Crossing and to pay special attention to its beautification. He also inspected new overhead tanks built in front of new jail. Shri Gaur was informed during inspection of municipal corporation’s zonal office at Govindpura, BHEL that online arrangements have been made for payment of property and water tax. So far, Rs. 13 crore has been paid online. The corporation will make online arrangements soon for marriage certificate, building permission and birth/death certificate.
Urban Administration Minister Shri Gaur inspected channelisation work of nullah passing through AIIMS in Saket Nagar. He directed to expedite work and remove hurdles coming in the work. Shri Gaur directed to beautify Bagh Mughaliya bus stop. He also inspected work of Habibganj railway over-bridge. The over-bridge costing about Rs. 38 crore is expected to be completed by December 2013.
