Labourers’ contribution significant in development of state and country

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that contribution of labourers is significant in the development of the state and country. The state government has implemented a number of schemes to bring about positive changes in living standard of labourers. The Chief Minister was addressing foundation laying ceremony of Shramoday School for labourers children at village Mugaliya Chhap here today. The Rs. 30 crore residential school will be first in the country for children of labourers.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the school will be named as Deendayal Shramodaya School. He said that a number of schemes were chalked out on the basis of decisions taken at Mazdoor Panchayat including scholarships, maternity benefits, assistance for girls marriage, on accidental death and assistance for treatment of labourers. Now, Rs. 10 thousand upto Rs. 50 thousand will be given to children of labourers who are selected in teams for state, division and district level sports competitions. Construction workers will be given 50 percent amount on purchase of toolkit by Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Labourers will be provided wheat and rice at the rate of Rs. one per kg. In 5 years, 15 lakh houses will be constructed for the poor in the state.

The Chief Minister said that children should imbibe education and contribute to state’s development. Shramoday School will hone talents of labourers’ children. Arrangements for quality education will be made in this residential school. Its building will be completed within a year. Madhya Pradesh has the highest economic and agriculture growth rates in the country. He announced to solve catchment area problem of farmers of Mugaliya Chhap and construction of a sports stadium in the village. He urged villagers to ensure success of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan and construct toilets in every house in the village.

Labour Minister Shri Antar Singh Arya said that announcement regarding this residential school was made at Mazdoor Panchayat. The state government has introduced a number of schemes for labourers’ welfare. The welcome address was delivered by local MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma. MP Shri Alok Sanjar, MLAs Shri Surendranath Singh and Shri Vishwas Sarang, Zila Panchayat President Smt. Meena Himmat Singh, General Secretary of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Shri Sultan Singh Shekhawat, Shri Alok Sharma, Principal Secretary Labour Shri Muktesh Varshney and large number of villagers and schools children were present on the occasion. Labour Commissioner Shri K.C. Gupta proposed a vote of thanks.
