Proposals to set up Food & Agriculture Centre of Excellence in state

Bhopal. In the series of regular interaction with investors, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan met 6 industrialists and delegations here today. Those who met the Chief Minister included Executive Director of Star Agriware Housing and Collateral Management Limited Shri Amit Mundawala, Association of Private Warehouse’s President Shri Abhinav Suryavanshi and delegation, President of Messrs Grasim Shri Dinesh Shukla, Chairman of Messrs HIG Shri Ravi Jhunjhunwala, Director of Messrs Essar Power Shri K.V.B. Reddy and President of CII Shri Sanjay Kirlosker and delegation.

Star Agriware Housing and Collateral Management Limited proposed for joint business in wheat procurement with Civil Supplies Corporation and State Marketing Federation. The company also evinced interest to collaborate in procurement services. The Chief Minister directed for detailed examination of company’s proposal. He said that facilities of farmers should be kept in view while examining the proposal.

Association of Private Warehouse informed about difficulties being faced in warehousing sector in the state. The Chief Minister said that efforts would be made to extend every possible assistance to investors in warehousing sector in the state. One office-bearer of the association will be included in the state level committee constituted in this regard.

President of CII Shri Kirlosker informed about suggestions to make agriculture profitable and reforms in labour laws. He said that CII wishes to set up Food & Agriculture Centre of Excellence in the state, which would apprise farmers of technical knowledge and do value addition of their produce. The Chief Minister directed to examine the proposal. CII also suggested to constitute a task force to attract new investments.

President of Messrs Grasim Shri Shukla and HEG’s President Shri Ravi Jhunjhunwala suggested to rationalize electricity duty structure and tariff. They also urged to rationalize entry tax on coal. The Chief Minister directed to chalk out detailed proposal in this regard.

Shri Reddy of Essar Group urged to exempt power plants from water cess and entry tax on coal.

Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, Agriculture Production Commissioner Shri P.C. Meena, Principal Secretary to CM Shri S.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary Industries Shri Mohammad Suleman, Principal Secretary Commercial Taxes Shri Manoj Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Energy Shri I.C.P. Kesari, Principal Secretary Revenue Shri K.K. Singh, Principal Secretary PWD Shri Pramod Agrawal and Principal Secretary Agriculture Dr. Rajesh Rajora were also present on the occasion.
