Advani expressed regrets to Sonia Gandhi
NEW DELHI: L K Advani senior BJP leader has apologised to Congress President Sonia Gandhi for a party-appointed task force report in which allegation was made that Sonia and her late husband Rajiv had accounts in Swiss banks.
It is said Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi were among Indians who held Swiss bank accounts according to the report of BJP appointed task force on unraveling the amount of black money stashed by Indians in foreign banks and ways to bring it back.
After that Sonia Gandhi wrote a letter to Advani denying the allegation.
According to sources the letter is to inform that neither Mrs. Gandhi nor her husband held accounts in Swiss bank.
Advani expressed regret about her name and that of her late husband being mentioned in the task force report in his reply to the Congress President’s letter.
