Encroachments to be removed from temples lands

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a scheme is being chalked out that the state government would bear fees of poor and talented students of general class on their selection in medical, engineering or other higher education institutions. Encroachments will be removed from temples’ lands. Compensation for loss of crop on lands of temples will be given concerning priest. The Chief Minister was addressing a delegation of Brahman Samaj at his residence here today.

The Chief Minister said that raising priests is duty of community and not the government. No intervention will be made in it by the state government. Residential pattas of land occupied by priests will be given to them. Necessary measures will be taken regarding priests’ honorarium. Shri Chouhan said that our culture aims at welfare and happiness of entire world. On the basis of this culture, the state government has chalked out a number of welfare schemes including Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana and Mukhyamantri Tirth-Darshan Yojana.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has renovated temples in Ujjain and successfully held Indian culture’s biggest Simhastha Mahakumbh there. Besides, Lord Shri Parshuram’s birthplace Janapao has been developed. A Rs. 1300 crore project has been chalked out to make Narmada river pollution-free. He said that a number of schemes have been implemented for welfare of the weaker section.

Water Resources and Public Relations Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Mineral Resources Development Corporation Chairman Shri Shiv Chaube, State Ekta Parishad’s Vice Chairman Shri Ramesh Sharma, Shri Mahant Badridas Ji Maharaj of Janapao, Shri Vishnu Shukla Bade Bhaiya, President of Madhya Pujari Parishad Shri Mahesh Vyas, State President Madhya Pradesh Pujari Parishad Shri Narendra Dixit, Sarv Brahman Samanvayak Shri Vikas Awasthi, Maithil Brahmin Samaj’s Shri Yaduvansh Jha, Sushri Poonam Kulkarni of Maharashtrian Brahmin Samaj, Shri Ram Babu Sharma, Shri Shyam Pathak, Shri S.K. Sharma and other representatives of Brahmin Samaj were present on the occasion.
