IPL Points Table 2019, Standings, ranking, orange cap, purple cap after MI vs RCB match

Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday (April 15). Hardik Pandya’s late blitz of 37 runs from 16 balls helped Mumbai to cross the line in the stiff run chase on the turning track.

“We played a pretty good game I guess. With the ball, we weren’t that great in the first six overs but the guys fought hard in the middle overs and came back well. At the end, we had to take the risk with the left-arm spinner, with two right-handed batsmen. Giving pace was risky, especially with a bit of dew. Unfortunately, it didn’t come off,” said Kohli after the defeat.

The win helped Mumbai Indians to jump to the third position in the IPL 2019 points table with 10 points from eight games, while RCB continued with their stay at the bottom of the table.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s David Warner still stands atop in the Orange Cap list with 400 runs in seven innings. He is followed by the KXIP opening pair of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle with 335 runs and 322 runs, respectively. Andre Russell stands fourth in the list while RCB’s AB de Villers broke into the top-five list. He scored 75 runs off 51 deliveries in the match against Mumbai at the Wankhede to amass a total of 307 runs in eight innings this season. Meanwhile, Mumbai’s Quinton de Kock broke into the top-10 list with his knock of 40 runs. He now has 278 runs in eight innings and is tied with Virat Kohli at the eighth position.

Delhi Capitals’ Kagiso Rabada stands atop in IPL 2019 Purple cap list with 17 wickets in eight innings and he is followed by CSK’s Imran Tahir with 13 wickets from the same number of innings. Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal from RCB jumps to the third spot with 13 wickets as well. He dismissed Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan in the match against Mumbai Indians on Monday. Chris Morris and Deepak Chahar complete the top-five list.
