Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan stumps reporter with cheeky reply after question on Hasan Ali

Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan came up with a hilarious response to stump a reporter after he was asked about his friendship with teammate Hasan Ali. Hasan and Shadab share a great rapport having started their international career almost at the same time. While Shadab is part of the Pakistan squad for the ongoing ODI series against Sri Lanka, Hasan has not been included due to an injury.

At the pre-match press conference ahead of the second ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Karachi, a reported asked Shadab how it felt to be playing a series without his dear friend Hasan. “You have a good friendship with Hasan Ali and this is probably the first time you are playing a series without him. How do you feel without your friend?” a reporter asked Shadab Khan.

He was quick to come up with a witty reply leaving the reporters at the press conference in splits. “We are friends, but you are making it sound like we are husband and wife,” said Shadab before underlining the pacer’s importance in Pakistan’s squad.

He later took to Twitter to share a video of the incident and wrote, “Dekh @RealHa55an, humari dosti pressers mai bhi aa gayi hai. On a serious note, all the team is in good spirit for the #PAKvSL series, we will try to give it our all.”

Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka in the second ODI of the three-match series on Monday at the National Stadium in Karachi after the first game was washed out due to rain. Pakistan will look to get off to a winnings start in the series in what will be Misbah-ul-Haq’s first major assignment as the head coach of the Pakistan team.

While Pakistan have a full-strength squad at their disposal, Sri Lanka have fielded a second-string squad for the series after ten players pulled out of the tour due to security concerns. The series will be a historic one for Pakistan in their bid to bring international cricket back to the country.
