England vs Australia 4th Test, Ashes 2019: When & where to watch, Telecast, Time in IST

The top-scorer in the ongoing Ashes 2019 series, Steve Smith, marks his return to the fore in the 4th Test of the series. The former skipper missed the third Test due to delayed concussion after being hit by a Jofra Archer bouncer. Smith’s return is set to boost Australia’s hopes of reclaiming the lead after Ben Stokes produced an extraordinary performance to hand England a 1-wicket win in the third Test to level the series 1-1.

England left out Chris Woakes out of the fourth Test at Old Trafford while naming Somerset’s Craig Overton in a bid to add freshness to their attack. Australia also have named Mitchell Starc in the 12-man squad, although it remains to be seen if he gets the nod over Peter Siddle. Overton has been phenomenal in the County Championship this season, picking one wicket for every 21 runs. He also offers the height advantage to England, something that made the team management pick him over Sam Curran.

A change in batting position has been also been introduced by England, with Joe Denly now set to open in place Jason Roy who has been shifted down in the middle order. One of Peter Siddle and Mitchell Starc will be picked in the playing XI, which will be a contest between the latter’s pace and swing and the latter’s skill and consistency.

The forecast at Manchester isn’t the best as there’s the probability of rainfall for the first three days. A slight tinge of green on the pitch is further said to add to the batsmen’s misery at Old Trafford.
