Saaho destroyed box office records of all these films: Avengers Endgame to Thugs of Hindostan

Along with Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan, here is a list of all the records that Prabhas's Saaho has broken

Sujeeth’s Saaho, starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor, hit the screens yesterday. Despite receiving mixed to negative reviews, the film, which was released in Hindu, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, has had a phenomenal opening. It made Rs 68 crore on the first day and has broken several records. Saaho has beaten the opening day records of several films at the Indian box office. Here’s a list of the films that it has defeated in terms of highest-openings of all time in India.

Avengers Endgame: Rs 53.10 crore
Thugs of Hindostan: Rs 52.25 crore
Happy New Year: Rs 44.97 crore
Bharat: Rs 42.30 crore
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo: Rs 40.35 crore
Sultan: Rs 36.54 crore
Dhoom 3: Rs 36.22 crore
Sanju: Rs 34.75 crore
Tiger Zinda Hai: Rs 34.10 crore
Chennai Express: Rs 33.12 crore

Saaho has emerged as the highest opener in 2019 itself, surpassing several other star-driven films.

Mission Mangal: Rs 29.16 crore
Kalank: Rs 21.60 crore
Kesari:Rs 21.06 crore

However, ironically Saaho failed to beat the record of Prabhas’s previous film, Baahubali: The Conclusion, which made a staggering Rs 121 crore on the first day of release. There was feverish hype around Saaho as this was Prabhas’s first film after the Baahubali franchise. The film hit headlines for its action sequences as well as Shraddha Kapoor’s presence in it.
Saaho tells the story of an eminent power struggle between deadly gangs in the fictional city of Waaji, after an important leader dies. Hot on their trail are policeman are from Mumbai. However, no one is really what they seem and the film is all about deception, love and thrills. Despite receiving negative to mixed reviews, Sujeeth’s Saaho, starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor, has had a thunderous start at the box office. The film has grossed Rs 100 crore, and has a nett figure of Rs 68.01 crore. The film, which was made on a budget of Rs 350 crore, was also released in four languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam across the country. There was feverish amount of hype around the film as it was Prabhas’s first film after the Baahubali saga, which made him an international sensation. Yet, while Saaho made an impressive start at the box office, it still couldn’t beat the record of Baahubali 2.Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which featured Prabhas, Rana Daggubatti, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah in the lead roles, earned a total of Rs 121 crore on its first day. The Hindi version of the film itself earned Rs 41 crore, and the cumulative figures of the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam release came to around Rs 80 crore.
