Verbal duel: Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Kamal Nath spar over ‘false promises’

BHOPAL: The verbal duel between chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state Congress president Kamal Nath continued on Thursday with both leaders raising questions on unfulfilled promises made in the 2018 manifesto of their political parties.
While Chouhan termed the Congress’ 2018 Vachan Patra as a Jhoot Patra (untruthful document), Nath said that the BJP’s 2018 Drishti Patra is Asatya Patra (false document).
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Chouhan said, “Congress leaders do not reply after questions are being raised on their manifesto because presently they are framing yet another “Jhoot Patra (untruthful document)”.
I am trying to expose the last untruthful document in which Congress and Kamal Nath had promised mothers and sisters of the state that in rural areas, they will give sewing machines and train women.”

He said, “While we are preparing Ladli Bahna Yojana for women,.they only promised ten sewing machines and did not give even that. Questions will be raised and they should reply or else the people will resolve the issue. Thegovernment had recently announced Ladli Bahna Yojana through which women will be given a grant of Rs 1000 per month|.
Replying to Chouhan, Nath said, “Shivrajji, please pay attention to your announcement machine as well. In the “Asatya Patra that you issued for Nari Shakti (women power) in the last election, there was a promise that “childless poor women should not be deprived of the experience of motherhood, therefore, 100% assistance will be given during pregnancy through IVF. Will you tell the people of the state how you cheated mothers of the state in the name of motherhood?”
