World’s Biggest Campaign to Conserve River and Environment

Hoshangabad. Narmada Seva Yatra is a biggest and unique movement of the world being undertaken to conserve river and environment. Shri Chouhan was addressing the members of yatra and public gathering at Narmada River bank on the 33rd day of yatra in village Sangakheda of district Hoshangabad.

Shri Chouhan urged the people to protect Narmada from pollution and told them to contribute to keep Narmada water pure. Do not immerse poojan material, flowers etc. in Narmada River. For this kunds will be constructed on the banks of River Narmada. Also muktidhams will be built on Narmada banks to stop pollution from funeral rites. Moreover, separate kunds will be constructed to immerse Ganesha and Durga idols. Changing Rooms will be constructed for women and girls, he added.

Shri Chouhan further mentioned that dignity of girls should be ensured in the state. Not jail but an action will be initiated soon for provision of capital punishment to the rapists.

Narmada River is not originated like other rivers but it is formed from the drops oozing out from the trees. As per the scientists there is only one solution to increase the level of Narmada that is plantation. Shri Chouhan said that the government departments will undertake plantation on their own lands and farmers should undertake plantation on their private lands. To avoid loss farmers should undertake fruit and umbrageous plantation and the state government will provide a sum of Rs. 20 thousand per hectare till the trees start bearing fruits. Forty percent subsidy will be given to undertake plantation. They can grow other crops in the spaces between the trees. On one hand Narmada current flow will become stronger and on the other farmers will be benefited by this.

Moreover Shri Chouhan said that electricity is being generated by constructing dams over Narmada River. Farmers are harvesting plentiful crops irrigating their lands by Narmada water. It is said that 7 dips in Yamuna and only one dip in Narmada brings salvation and people get rid of their sins even from darshan of Maa Narmada.
