Women’s empowerment to be theme of tableaux at 26 January function
Bhopal: Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa chaired a meeting to review preparations for Republic Day-26 January function at a meeting at Mantralaya today. The Chief Secretary sought information about main function and cultural programmes to be held at the state-level function. Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Aruna Sharma, heads of departments, Principal Secretaries, Commissioner Bhopal division and police officers were present on the occasion. Theme of tableaux to be presented by various departments on the occasion will be women’s empowerment.
The Chief Secretary directed to ensure proper sanitation, drinking water and other arrangements at the venue of state level function in state capital Bhopal. He said that during rehearsal for January 26, coordinated efforts should be made for mock inspection and parade and if any errors are detected, they should be removed immediately.
Principal Secretary Culture Shri Pankaj Rag informed that tableaux of 22 departments will be displayed at the state level function where Gadli folk dance of Korku tribe, Matki dance of Malwa, equestrian show and joint dance by school students will be held.
Shri Rag informed that district level Bharat Parv functions will be held by Culture Department. He informed that 6 awards will be given away at the state level function. Cultural programmes on Madhya Pradesh’s holy and religious places will be held under “Amrit Madhya Pradesh”. Besides, 2 exhibitions namely Kumbh and Sindhuja will also be put up. Cultural programmes will be held at Ravindra Bhavan from January 26 to 30. Sufi singing will be held at the function on January 30 to mark death anniversary of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
