Message of saving environment through Goverdhan Puja still relevant

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said thousands of years ago, the message of saving environment was given through Goverdhan Puja in Indian culture. The message is still relevant. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan stated this on Goverdhan Festival, a day after Diwali here today. He along with his wife Smt. Sadhna Singh performed cow worship with religious rites and rituals.

The Chief Minister said that message of saving Earth was given through Goverdhan Puja in Indian culture. It means conservation of all that is on the Earth including living beings, trees and plants, hills and environment. It will rain if there are plants and trees and rivers will have water. This will save Earth. Therefore, protection of trees and plants is necessary. He urged people to take a resolve on Goverdhan Puja to conserve trees, plants, rivers and environment since it will help future generations lead a better life. Its importance was underlined in India thousands of years ago.

Shri Chouhan, Smt. Sadhna Singh and their sons Kunal and Kartikey performed Gau Puja and did Aarti while wishing for augmentation of cow progeny and increase in milk production in the state.

Forest Minister Dr. Gaurishankar Shejwar, Higher & Technical Education Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta, MPs Shri Anil Madhav Dave, Shri Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan, Shri Arvind Menon and Shri Alok Sanjar, MLAs Shri Rameshwar Sharma and Shri Vishwas Sarang and Shri Alok Sharma were present on the occasion.
