Reservation will be applicable: Those who will study in government school from 6th to 12th, only 5% reservation in MBBS-BDS

Students studying in government schools of MP will now be given 5% reservation in government as well as private medical and dental colleges for admission in MBBS and BDS. Its notification was issued by the government. Students studying in government schools will get the benefit of this reservation from the new session itself. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced this reservation on March 14, 2023 itself.

However, according to the notification, women candidates will continue to get 30% quota for admission to any course in all colleges and 5% quota for physically challenged. Freedom fighters and military candidates will get three percent reservation each in government medical and dental colleges only. Eligible students will have to produce a certificate issued by the District Education Officer, District Coordinator or Assistant Commissioner. This certificate will decide the eligibility for reservation.

Such students who have passed the examination after regular studies from 6th to 12th in government school.

Under the Right to Education, have studied from first to eighth grade in private schools. After this, regular studies from ninth to 12th should have been done in government schools. Have passed the exam.

These will be eligible – students of government schools, women, freedom fighters, soldiers, disabled and non-resident Indians.

5% reservation will be adjusted like this. Students of government schools will get 5% reservation separately in each category. For example, if SC has 20% reservation and out of 100 seats it gets 20, then 5% ie one seat will be for the students of government schools. Similarly, if unreserved has 50% i.e. 50 seats, then 5% i.e. 2.5 seats or three seats will be for the students of government schools. Similar process will be followed in SC and OBC.
