Demonstration centre for profitable farming of vegetables to be established at Raj Bhavan

The Governor Lalji Tandon is getting prepared a practical model of profitable vegetables farming at Raj Bhavan. A demonstration centre equipped with modern technique for production of vegetables will be established soon at Raj Bhavan. In order to display a practical example of modern horticulture and farming, a Hitech Polyhouse is being built at Raj Bhavan. Vegetables will be grown in the polyhouse throughout the year. Any vegetable can be produced during any season.
The Secretary Manohar Dubey said that apart from traditional farming, there is a need for protected farming today. He said organic farming has to be given more importance to restrict the use of chemicals and pesticides. This will increase both yields and income. At the same time, higher production with lower costs will strengthen economy of the country. Manohar Dubey said that with this intention, the demonstration centre is being developed to use modern methods to grow fruits, flowers, vegetables etc. The Centre will make the people of the state aware of the new technology. It will also enable people to know about the modern farming.
The Raj Bhavan will have protected cultivation instead of traditional farming. It will also produce organic products without soil, which is known as soil less farming. This will reduce the dependence on soil. Residents of urban areas will be able to grow fresh vegetables at their homes without soil as per their requirement by observing the farming at Raj Bhavan.
