CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurates cable-stayed bridge on Upper Lake in Bhopal

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday inaugurated the 300 metre-long cable-stayed bridge in Bhopal. The 40 crore bridge on the Upper Lake has been named Raja Bhoj Setu.

Connecting Kamla Park to VIP Road Crossing, the bridge is expected to ease the traffic flow in old Bhopal by providing safe and easy access to vehicles from new city to old city area. The construction of the bridge started on July 17, 2014. The bridge has been constructed using German technology.

As many as 68 LEDs were installed on the cable of the bridge while 28 bulbs were installed on the pylon. Apart from them, 28 street lights will illuminate the bridge.

BJP state president Nandkumar Singh Chauhan along with Bhopal mayor Alok Sharma was also present on the occasion.
