Talented SC, ST students to be made role model : Vijay Shah

Bhopal: Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah has said that the State Government has implemented a number of schemes for welfare of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. He said that students desirous of higher studies abroad will be sent to foreign countries on government expenses. Minister Kunwar Shah was addressing a five-day departmental Leadership Development Camp here today. At the function, students having secured highest marks in class 10th and 12th exams were honoured. As many as 230 children selected from all over the state are participating in the camp. Minister of State for Scheduled Caste Welfare Shri Harishankar Khatik was also present on the occasion.
Minister Kunwar Shah said that the State Government has decided to arrange free coaching in New Delhi-based prestigious coaching institutes for SC, ST students to enable them join Indian Administrative Services. Its entire expenses will be borne by the State Government. Kunwar Shah said that over 50 SC, ST students have been sent to foreign countries from the state to pursue higher education. He asked students to join science faculty without any hesitation. They will be provided every possible assistance from the department.
Minister of State for Scheduled Caste Welfare Shri Harishankar Khatik said that the department will project the SC, ST students securing highest marks in the board exams as role models to inspire other children. The class 10th students felicitated at the leadership development camp include Vishal Sengar of Barwani (98.83 percent marks), Sonu Sirsam of Betul (93.33 percent) and Virendra Senani of Barwani (93.16 percent). The class 12th awardees in boys section included Vishal Uike of Chhindwara (94 percent marks), Baban Bhavel of Barwani (90.2 percent) and Satyabhan Kumar of Balaghat (89.6 percent) and the class X students in the girls section include Ku. Vaibhavshri Laria of Shahdol (95 percent marks), Ku. Ankita of Seoni (93.5 percent) and Ku. Neetu Bhagat of Barwani (91.83 percent). In class 12th, Ku. Meenaxi Meda of Jhabua secured 92.2 percent marks, Ku. Neelima Anare of Dewas and Ku. Archana Barde of Barwani 75.17 percent marks each.
Principal Secretary Tribal Welfare Shri Premchand Meena, Principal Secretary Scheduled Caste Welfare Shri M. Mohan Rao, Commissioner Tribal Welfare Shri Ashish Upadhyay, Commissioner Scheduled Caste Welfare Shri J.N. Malpani and Managing Director of Scheduled Tribes Finance Development Corporation Smt. Veena Ghanekar were also present on the occasion.
During the camp period, talented children will also be given opportunity to meet the Governor, the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary and the DGP. The campers will also participate in the state-level Republic Day function at Bhopal. Experts of various subjects will also deliver lectures on career building during the camp.
