‘Smart Class’ for 100 colleges of MP

Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed to implement concept of ‘Smart Class’ in higher education colleges in the state on a large scale. This year, Smart Class Project will be implemented in 100 colleges. For this, a central studio will also be prepared. The Smart Class Project will be linked with National Knowledge Network. Reviewing activities of Higher Education Department here today, the Chief Minister directed to develop at least one excellence faculty in every university. Higher Education Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma, Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram, Secretary Higher Education Shri J.N. Kansotiya and other officers were present at the meeting.

A Bill will be tabled during winter session of Vidhan Sabha for amending University Statutes. The Chief Minister directed to expedite work of streamlining higher education under World Bank Project.

The Chief Minister expressed pleasure over success of online admission process for graduate and post-graduate courses during the current academic session. Last year, one lakh 31 thousand students had taken admission in government colleges whereas three lakh three thousand took admission through online process this year. The government had to increase number of seats. The Chief Minister directed to give cash prizes to officers and employees involved in online admission process. For this, a sum of Rs. two lakh was sanctioned.
