Journalist Protection Act to be implemented soon
Government is committed for safety of Journalists
The Minister for Public Relations P.C. Sharma said that Journalist Protection Act will be implemented soon. The State Government is committed to introduce the Act.
Sharma was speaking at a programme held at Ravindra Bhavan today in connection to the demands of journalists. He said that necessary decisions will be taken soon by the government on the demands of the journalists. Sharma mentioned that deliberations are being made for implementing Journalist Protection Act and other demands of various organizations. He informed that increase is being made in ex-gratia given to the families of journalists. Steps are also being taken to enhance Shraddhanidhi. Sharma assured them that steps to provide health, safety and other facilities to journalists will be taken soon. The Public Relations Minister Shamra also met the journalists came from various districts of the state.
