Self-employment schemes to be rationalised for effective implementation

Bhopal: Self-employment schemes of various departments in the state will be merged in 3 new schemes for their effective implementation. The proposed schemes are Mukhyamantri Yuva Uddyami Yojana, Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana and Mukhyamantri Aarthik Kalyan Yojana. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave in-principle sanction to these proposed schemes at a meeting held at Mantralaya for self-employment schemes’ rationalisation. It is noteworthy that 7 departments are implementing 13 self-employment schemes. Nodal department for these schemes will be Industries Department.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that while unifying separate self-employment schemes, it should be kept in view that facilities under them are not curtailed. He said that efforts should be made that maximum number of youths come forward to establish their self-employment taking advantage of these schemes. The Chief Minister said that effective implementation will be easy after merger of all self-employment schemes in these schemes. Shri Chouhan directed to undertake a campaign to train young entrepreneurs in concerning trades. This will help them set up self-employment. Scheme should be chalked out to provide marketing facility to them. Shri Chouhan said that talented youths should not lag behind in setting up self-employment due to lack of money. The Chief Minister directed to undertake rationalisation of self-employment schemes within time-limit.
What are proposed schemes: Under Mukhyamantri Yuva Uddyami Yojana, loan worth Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. one crore will be provided to young entrepreneurs. They must be between 18 and 40 years of age having minimum qualification of X exam pass. Income is no bar. Under the scheme, loan subsidy of 5 percent will be given for maximum 7 years. Youths need not margin money.

Under Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana, loans from Rs. 20 thousand to Rs. 10 lakh will be given. Educational qualification should by V class pass and age between 18 and 45 years. For general category people, 15 percent margin money upto a maximum of Rs. one lakh will be given and 30 percent margin money upto a maximum of Rs. 2 lakh for beneficiaries belonging to SCs, STs, other backward classes, women, minorities, general category poor and disabled. Loan subsidy of 5 percent will be given for maximum 7 years upto maximum Rs. 25 thousand.

Under Mukhyamantri Aarthik Kalyan Yojana, working capital will be provided to poorest people, which will be maximum Rs. 20 thousand. Educational qualification is no bar. Age must be between 18 and 55 years. Margin money will be 50 percent of the project cost upto maximum Rs. 8 thousand.

Commerce and Industries Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Shri Ajay Nath, Principal Secretary Commerce and Industries Shri Mohammad Sulaiman and senior officers of concerning departments were present on the occasion.
