Safety of women is the top priority of state govt: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the safety of women is the top priority of the state government for which it is running many campaigns. We have zero tolerance towards crimes against women.

The state assembly was the first in the country to make a law to directly hang those for subjecting women to brutality.

Chouhan was addressing the distribution function of 100 two wheelers to the Urja Mahila desks of police stations of remote areas of the state on International Women’s Day. Chouhan flagged off the rally of two wheelers from Smart Udyan to the Urja Mahila Desks.

Chouhan also dedicated three short documentaries based on true events to connect the society with the ‘Asli Hero Abhiyan’ being run for women’s safety. Greeting the women of the state on International Woman’s Day, the Chief Minister said that it was our decision to ensure 30 percent of recruitment in the police force of women.

It is a matter of pride that women are fulfilling this responsibility of protection with utmost seriousness. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been a strong advocate of women empowerment. Many schemes have been launched in this direction.

Chouhan said that women police stations have been established in the state. Women help desks have been set up. In addition, Urja Mahila Help Desk has been set up. Women Help Desks have been set up in police stations to enable women to register FIRs without any hesitation. This responsibility is being fulfilled by female police personnel.

Chouhan said that two wheelers are being provided to Urja Mahila Help Desks for this purpose only if there is any information related to crime against women the victim can get registered her complaint without any hesitation.

Urja Mahila Help Desks have been set up in 700 police stations in the state. Two wheelers are being provided to 100 desks out of them. Vehicles will be provided to the remaining 600 women help desks in two phases. The state government will leave no stone unturned for the safety of women.
