Rs. 7 crore 46 lakh were handed over to 23 thousand 50 beneficiaries

BHOPAL (MPINFO): A Van Panchayat will be convened at which support prices for forest produce will be fixed. The bonus which is given to Tendu leaf collectors will also be revised. Decisions on all-round development and progress of tribals and forest dwellers will also be taken at the Mahapanchayat.

Suggestions will be elicited from forest dwellers and their problems will be redressed. Chief Minister Chouhan gave this information at development block-level Antyodaya Mela held at predominantly tribal village Chanwalpani in Tami development block of Chhindwara district on Thursday.

At the fair, loans and subsidies worth Rs. 7 crore 46 lakh were handed over to 23 thousand 50 beneficiaries. The Chief Minister performed bhumi poojan for 87 works in the district worth Rs. 50 crore 46 lakh. He also gave away cheques worth Rs. 14 lakh 33 thousand to meritorious students for pursuing higher education. The Chief Minister said that two talented girl students of Chhindwara district have been sent abroad for higher studies.

Chouhan said that every single forest produce collector will be given the benefit of sale of forest produce and no middleman will be allowed to operate in the process. Forest rights documents are being delivered to all the eligible at their homes. Similarly, a decision has been taken to extend the benefit Gaon Ki Beti Yojna to the village girl students studying in private colleges.

The chief Minister said that the State Government has undertaken special efforts for the treatment of patients and welfare of physically challenged. Special canopies have been erected for patients and disabled persons at the function. Some patients will be referred to Chhindwara and Jabalpur for treatment. Some other patients will be sent to Shankar Nethralaya, Chennai. Heart patients will be sent to Nagpur for treatment. The Chief Minister sanctioned a sum of Rs. 4 lakh 16 thousand to 11 patients and instructed for their immediate treatment.

The Chief Minister announced to start science and maths classes in the village’s high school. A tribal hostel will be opened at Chanwalpani. The road from Kahurjhiri to Anhoni will be asphalted and AYUSH dispensary will be opened at Bamhani soon. Three irrigation projects will be sanctioned after examining their proposals.

MP Sushri Anusuiya Uike and MLA Premshankar Thakur also addressed the function. Minister of State for School Education Nanabhau Mohod, MLAs Tarachand Bawaria and Ramrao Kavreti, Vice-Chairman of MP Tourism Development Corporation and others were also present on the occasion.
