Rs. 1428 Crore for development of cities

Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Government will spend Rs. 1428 crore for better development of cities. The Decision has taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday.
Under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Adhosanrachna Vikas Yojna (Chief Minister Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme), basic facilities will be developed in urban areas of the state. Special attention will be paid to development of infrastructure in cities having tourism and religion importance. The works will include roads, urban transport, beautification of cities, development of social infrastructure, parks, conservation of heritage and tourism-related scheme. The urban bodies, which will be allocated funds under the scheme, will have to implement time-bound improvement programme. As per financial structure of the scheme, the State Government will give 30 percent subsidy and make available 70 percent loan. Repayment of loan and interest will be made by the State Government in 15 to 20 years and remaining 25 percent by concerning urban body. The scheme will be implement from current fiscal.
Land to NTPC : The cabinet decided to allot 154.156 hectare government land at villages Sandni and Baraithi in Chhatarpur district to National Thermal Power Corporation for establishment of super thermal power project. The land will be provided at the rate of Rs. five lakh per acre or according to guideline for year 2012013 on market rate and industrial lease rent, whichever is more and realising cost of government assets over there. Capacity of this project is 6 X 660 Megawatts.
The cabinet decided to allot 128.979 hectare land at villages Meharkhera, Chorbarhat, Gangai, Umaria, Dongargaon and Kuradi in Narsinghpur district for establishment of NTPC’s super thermal power project. The land will be provided at the rate of Rs. five lakh per acre or according to guideline for year 2012-13 on market rate and industrial lease rent, whichever is more.
Director Health : The cabinet created a post of Director in the Public Health & Family Welfare Department and decided to post an Indian Administrative Service office on it. The post will not be filled up through departmental promotion but by availing services of an IAS officer on deputation.
