Preparations for second phase of Beti Bachao Abhiyan will start soon
Bhopal : State-wide survey of nutrition level will be undertaken. The Central Government has directed other states to emulate this initiative of Madhya Pradesh government. This information was given at a review meeting of the Woman & Child Development Department chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. Shri Chouhan directed that a practical action plan should be chalked out to impart job-oriented training to daughters. He also instructed to start preparations for the second phase of Beti Bachao Abhiyan.
Minister of State for Woman and Child Development Smt. Ranjana Baghel and Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram were also present at the meeting.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that schemes should be constantly reviewed and pondered with a view to making them more effective. He directed departmental officers to study the schemes chalked out by other states on the pattern of Ladli Laxmi Yojna. He said that efforts under Atal Child Health Mission should be made more effective. Shri Chouhan directed to review and modernize various centres being run for cooperation and assistance to working women.
It was informed at the meeting that N.I.N, Hyderabad will conduct state-wide survey of nutrition level in the state in January 2013. It will continue for three months. Over 12 lakh 8 thousand girls have been benefited by Ladli Laxmi Yojna. Process is also underway to inform beneficiaries about the scheme through SMS. Preparations for G.I.S. mapping of Anganwadi centres have been completed.
Principal Secretary Woman & Child Development Shri B.R. Naidu, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Manoj Shrivastava, Director Woman & Child Development Shri Anupam Rajan, Director Atal Child Health Mission Shri M.K.L. Agrawal and other officers also attended the meeting.
