Explosion in Mathura, Three Killed

Nearly three people have been killed and a few others injured in an explosion in a scrap market in Mathura, said media reports.

According to reports, the explosion occurred at Nayee Basti at around 2.45 this afternoon. The area is inhibited by scrap dealers.

The explosion took place when scrap dealers tried to hammer a shell to extract brass, said reports.

Among those who were killed include a six-year-old girl and a 35 year-old-man, reports said.

Reports said that terror angle to the explosion is unlikely.
