Polling for third & last phase of Lok Sabha elections in MP on April 24

Bhopal: As many as one crore 69 lakh 53 thousand 358 voters will cast their votes in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections to be held on April 24 in 10 Lok Sabha constituencies Vidisha, Dewas (SC), Ujjain (SC), Mandsaur, Ratlam (ST), Dhar (ST), Indore, Khargone (ST), Khandwa and Betul (ST). These include 87 lakh 81 thousand 495 male, 81 lakh 71 thousand 514 female and 349 other voters. There are also 5 thousand 230 service voters. The number of young voters in these 10 constituencies is 58 lakh 37 thousand. Photo voter slips have been distributed to 96.80 percent voters in the constituencies. In the Lok Sabha elections in year 2009, as many as as 118 candidates had contested. The same number of candidates are also in the fray for current elections. Indore has the maximum 22 candidates and Dhar minimum 7 candidates. In all, 17 woman candidates are also in the fray. On the polling day, 103 companies of CAPF, 50 companies of SAF and other police forces will be deployed. The polling will be conducted at 19 thousand 446 polling booths by one lakh 6 thousand 278 polling staff including police personnel.
Among the 10 Parliamentary constituencies, Indore is the largest with 21 lakh 14 thousand 92 voters and Ujjain smallest with 15 lakh 25 thousand 292 voters. Among remaing Parliamentary onstituencies, Vidisha has 16 lakh 33 thousand 965 voters including 8 lakh 72 thousand 107 male, 7 lakh 61 thousand 836 female and 22 other voters, Dewas 16 lakh 15 thousand 911 voters including 8 lakh 42 thousand 571 male, 7 lakh 73 thousand 317 female and 23 other voters, Ujjain 15 lakh 25 thousand 292 voters including 7 lakh 90 thousand 717 male, 7 lakh 34 thousand 540 female and 35 other voters, Mandaur 16 lakh 25 thousand 614 voters including 8 lakh 37 thousand 288 male, 7 lakh 88 thousand 294 female and 32 other voters, Ratlam 17 lakh 2 thousand 459 voters including 8 lakh 60 thousand 810 male and 8 lakh 41 thousand 624 female and 25 other voters and Dhar 16 lakh 67 thousand 77 voters including 8 lakh 57 thousand 169 male, 8 lakh 9 thousand 869 female and 39 other voters.
