Friends of MP” Initiative Starts Receiving Tremendous Response

Bhopal: The Friends of MP forum has started receiving tremendous response immediately after its launch by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at NewYork in USA. The third day of his ongoing visit witnessed nearly a dozen investors giving their proposals to forge development partnership with Madhya Pradesh. Shri Chouhan had a business dialogue with them at Manhattan New York.

The MP Medical Alumni Association of North America (MPMAANA) proposed to set up an advisory panel as a resource to the Chief Minister and the Director of Medical Education. It has plans for an exchange programme for faculty and students between Madhya Pradesh and MPMAANA, North America. The association members, according to the initial proposal will be given privilege of being a visiting faculty to the MP Medical University. It will create academic opportunities in the state. A memorandum to this effect was submitted to the Chief Minister.

Triton Solar company is planning to relocate its headquarters from New York to Madhya Pradesh.

The company has expertise in manufacturing, distribution and sales facilities. Its operation will generate jobs at many levels on one hand and contribute to the local economy on the other. Besides, additional source of revenue will also be available to both the State and the Centre.

The New York’s Columbia University came forward with a proposal to develop Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE ) at Bhopal. The university will help the IASE Bhopal have a state-of-the-art academic infrastructure for faculties. It will first be developed at national level and later be transformed into a global institute.

Sushri Radhika Iyengar, director of education at the Center on Globalization and Sustainable Development, the Earth Institute, Columbia University,held discussions with Shri Chouhan on the proposal according to which faculty members will enroll themselves with Columbia University for two-month training. Armed with advanced skills they will be able to create state-of-the-art academic infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh.

Jitendra S Tomar of TTA Systems desired to participate as partner in operation of Mass Transit Rail System. The company expressed interest in public-private partnership projects. It has expertise in turnkey projects involving System Designs, Electrification, Tracking, Signaling, Fare Collection and the supply of rolling stock.

Shri Jasdeep Singh from Maryland talked to the Chief Minister about prospective sister relationship with Madhya Pradesh. He heads the governor’s Commission on South Asian Affairs.

Besides, investment proposals for green energy projects, educational promotion, social sector initiatives, tourism promotion projects were received.
