Over 80 percent LPG consumers join initiative

Bhopal: From November 15, 2014 till date, as many as 80 percent LPG consumers in the state have been connected with cash transfer benefit scheme. The state has 65 lakh LPG consumers. Aadhar Numbers of these consumers have been linked with their bank accounts.

A cell has been constituted for monitoring of the scheme by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry. LPG consumers are informed through SMS message after deposit of amount in their bank accounts. A special campaign is underway in the state for publicizing the scheme in which cooperation is also being sought from NGOs. Commercial LPG is supplied to consumers through 954 distributors appointed by oil companies in the state.
