Over 46 thousand postal ballots distributed to polling staff and service voters during Lok Sabha elections

Bhopal: As many as 46 thousand 42 postal ballots were distributed to polling staff and service voters during three phases of Lok Sabha elections in 29 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. In all, 19 thousand 38 postal ballots were distributed in the first phase, 15 thousand 431 in the second phase and 11 thousand 573 in the third phase.

Of the 46 thousand 42 ballot papers, 19 thousand 761 were issued to polling staff and 26 thousand 281 to service voters. Service voters are the officers and employees who are posted in foreign countries under the Defence Ministry and other departments and whose names are registered in electoral rolls in the state. Similarly, ballot papers were also issued to the polling staff of the state who were deployed in election duty outside their own constituencies. Postal ballots will be accepted by district election officers before commencement of counting.

In the first phase, postal ballots were distributed to 8 thousand 935 polling staff and 10 thousand 103 service voters in 9 Lok Sabha constituencies, 6 thousand 74 polling staff and 9 thousand 357 service voters in the second phase in 10 constituencies and 4 thousand 752 polling staff and 6 thousand 821 service voters in the third phase in 10 Lok Sabha constituencies.
In the first phase, postal ballots were distributed to 8 thousand 935 polling staff and 10 thousand 103 service voters in 9 Lok Sabha constituencies, 6 thousand 74 polling staff and 9 thousand 357 service voters in the second phase in 10 constituencies and 4 thousand 752 polling staff and 6 thousand 821 service voters in the third phase in 10 Lok Sabha constituencies.
