On the Directives of Home Minister Special campaign against illicit sale of liquor
Bhopal. Under the special campaign against the illicit sale of liquor carried out across the state action has been taken against 12,506 persons and 688 contractors in 11,575 cases of illicit sale of liquor registered till July 27. Besides One lakh 519 litres of liquor has been seized during the campaign carried out on the directives of Home Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh. The campaign started by the police on July 15 will continue upto July 31.
During the campaign, maximum number of 1544 cases were registered in Rewa Zone where action was taken against 1555 persons and seven contractors and 8321 litres of liquor seized, in Ujjain zone 1453 cases were registered, action was taken against 1620 persons and 143 contractors and 9174 litres of liquor seized, in Indore zone 1416 cases were registered, action was taken against 1456 persons and 144 contractors and 21,552 litres of liquor seized, in Bhopal zone 1067 cases were registered, action was taken against 1084 persons and one contractors and 10,665 litres of liquor seized.In Sagar zone 1035 cases were registered, action was taken against 1204 persons and 87 contractors and 7001 litres of liquor seized.
Similarly, in Chambal zone 990 cases were registered, action was taken against 1112 persons and 162 contractors and 6906 litres of liquor seized. In Shahadol zone 987 cases were registered, action was taken against 1000 persons and four contractors (shopkeepers) and 5912 litres of liquor seized. In Jabalpur zone 959 cases were registered, action was taken against 1054 persons and 32 contractors and 8423 litres of liquor seized.
During the special campaign in Hoshangabad zone 946 cases were registered, action was taken against 1095 persons and 14 contractors and 4637 litres of liquor seized. In Gwalior zone 899 cases were registered, action was taken against 1042 persons and 94 contractors and 7224 litres of liquor seized. In Balaghat zone 263 cases were registered, action was taken against 268 persons and 10,586 litres of liquor seized. In the Rail zone 16 cases were registered, action was taken against 16 persons and 118 litres of liquor seized.
