Nath shifts proposed Israel farm centres to constituency

BHOPAl: CM Kamal Nath has changed the venue of two centres proposed by Israel from Sehore and Shajapur to Chhindwara. When Israel consulate general Ya’akov Finkelstein visited MP in March last the then chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan suggested that a floral cultivation centre be established in Sehore and a citrus fruit centre in Shajapur, but now the venues of both the centre of agriculture excellence have been changed.

According to the proposal Israel will provide technical support while state government will provide infrastructure like land and others, to establish centres.Recently the consulate general made a visit to the state, in February and met CM Kamal Nath the ambassador in New Delhi and had expressed his views on developmental work in the state.

On the instructions of the ambassador the Consulate General had came to Bhopal. Finkelstein met the chief secretary and principal secretaries of various departments and presented the plans of his government for the state. “Israel already has 26 centres and the two proposed centres of state MP increase the number of centres in India to 28,”Finkelstein added.

He said these centres are not about imposing the knowledge, but it is a venture of knowledge sharing.
He added that Indian and Israel government are working on many fronts, importantly on water management, agriculture, defence, innovations, digital platform among others.
