MP will offer better quota to Muslims than Maha: Minister

Reacting to Maharashtra government’s plan to provide five per cent quota to Muslims in education, a Madhya Pradesh minister on Saturday claimed that his government will offer a better deal to the minority community.
Talking to reporters in Agar Malwa, about 53 kms from here, Water Resources Minister Hukum Singh Karada said the Congress-led Madhya Pradesh government’s agenda for minorities will be ready soon and Muslims will get better “relaxations” than Maharashtra.
Asked if the MP government plans to provide reservation to Muslims, Karada said, “I am not authorised to make an announcement, but certainly a good liberal message will be delivered.”
On Friday, Maharashtra Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik informed the state legislative council that their government will pass a legislation to extend five per cent reservation to Muslims in educational institutes.
